Hello and welcome to my classroom! I am so happy to be able to interact with you this year, whether you are one of my students or a parent. I hope to create a culture of inclusiveness, warmth, rigor, and determination in my class. Each and every student have unique fields of interests, skills, and knowledge and it is my mission to seek out these idiosyncrasies so that I can hold each student to the highest standard possible for them.
I was born and raised in Alvin, Texas (about 40 minutes south of Houston). As the daughter of two parents who have worked at Alvin High School as teachers and a coach for 25+ years, I have lived and breathed education for as long as I can remember. I am a proud nerd at heart who loves to learn and teach. Outside of my nerdiness, I would say I am quite dimensional. I am a blogger who LOVES to write about life, wellness, mental health, and relationships. Writing is my therapy. I grew up as an athlete, constantly going from one practice to another. Soccer was ultimately the sport I fell in love with and still like to partake in to this day. You could say I traded my cleats in for dancing shoes because I am now a certified Zumba instructor.
Here are a few things that make my soul happy: my family, writing, hiking, yoga, meditating, playing soccer, exploring Austin, Tx, trying new restaurants, dancing, working out, any activity outdoors, and traveling.
This is a glimpse of who I am, and I hope to further connect with each and everyone of you as the year goes on!
